Delete your account.
You can do this yourself, in the app, in about ten seconds. This page exists for the case where you would rather not, or no longer have the app installed. To delete only some of your data and keep your account, see Delete some of your data.
In the app
Open WellSavvy, go to your profile, and choose Delete account. It happens immediately. There is no waiting period and nothing to confirm by email.
By writing to us
Send an email to hello@wellsavvyapp.com from the address you signed up with, and ask us to delete your account. Using that address is how we know it is you, so we do not have to ask you for anything else.
We do these within 30 days, and normally within a few.
What gets deleted
Everything. Your profile, every meal and drink you logged, every workout, your water, sleep and mood entries, your recipes and shopping lists, every nutrient target we calculated for you, and your sign-in identity itself.
It is not an archive or a deactivation. Once it runs, we cannot recover any of it, and neither can you. If you want a copy of your data first, ask us at the same address before you delete.
The exceptions are the records of a subscription: when a free month started and any change of plan, cancellation, payment, billing problem or refund, which we keep for as long as tax law requires for the payments among them, and the terms you agreed to and a record of the emails we sent you about it, which we keep to show what you were told. We remove your name from them, so what remains is a subscription with no person attached. We count it in our weekly totals and never try to tie it back to you. We also keep a note that you asked and when we did it, under your account's random number and nothing else about you, for 24 months.
What is not affected
If you also joined our list, that is held separately for a different reason, so deleting your account does not remove you from it. Reply to any email we have sent you, or say so in the same message, and we will take you off that too.
Health data on your phone is yours and stays untouched. WellSavvy only ever reads from Apple Health and Health Connect, and deleting your account simply ends that access.
Delete some of your data, keep your account
You do not have to delete your account to delete what is in it.
In the app. You can delete each of these yourself, where you see it:
- A food, a drink, a dish or a whole meal, on your day or on the food's own page.
- An exercise or a whole workout, including one you imported from Apple Health or Health Connect.
- A weigh-in, under Your weigh-ins in Analytics.
- A saved recipe and its photo, a usual, a saved workout or a routine (Your usuals, in your profile), and any favorite.
- A chat with Savvy, by swiping it in your list of chats.
Your allergies, your diet, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and the nutrients Savvy watches for you can be cleared or switched off in your profile. Your date of birth, sex and height can be changed there but not removed, because every target is worked out from them.
By writing to us. For anything else, or for all of one kind at once, email hello@wellsavvyapp.com from the address you signed up with and say what you would like deleted. That includes what the app has no delete for:
- The health data it has read from Apple Health or Health Connect.
- How you have felt, and your notes on it.
- Your water, and the foods you marked "Not for me".
- Your answers to tips, and a report you sent us.
- Your shopping and fridge lists, and the foods we estimated for your meals. An estimated food keeps the words you typed for it, even if you never saved the meal.
- The record of when you opened the app.
- Apple's answer on which App Store ad led to your install.
We do it within 30 days, and normally within a few.
What is deleted, and what stays for a while.
- What you delete leaves our database at once. After you save or delete a food, a dish or an exercise, the app can offer Undo for a few seconds, and the copy that makes it possible is removed within about an hour. A whole meal deleted in one go keeps no copy and cannot be undone.
- Your totals and your current readings are worked out again without it. What the app worked out for a period that has already ended stays as it was: a reading, a night's nutrient levels, or a summary of a day or of a longer period.
- Tips and food suggestions the app has already made can name a food you logged. They are not rewritten when you delete that food, and our record of them stays until you delete your account or ask us to remove it.
- A chat with Savvy that mentions it, and a usual you saved from it, stay until you delete them. If you delete one food from a dish, the dish keeps the words you typed for it until you delete the dish.
- Our database backups are overwritten within 7 days, and our server logs, which can hold parts of a request, are deleted after 30 days.
- If it went to Google's Gemini, such as a meal you described or a question you asked Savvy, Google keeps it for up to 55 days to check for misuse, and then deletes it.
- The usage counts Firebase keeps carry no name or email, and Google deletes them on the schedule our Firebase account sets.
- A report you sent us about an answer keeps its copy of that answer until you ask us to delete it or delete your account.
- The record of your subscription (when a free month started, any change of plan, cancellation, payment, billing problem or refund) stays for years, because tax law requires us to keep the payments in it. If you delete your account, we remove your name from it.
